I will not be blogging over the Christmas & New Year holidays, so I’ll just leave you with some reading material. Here are some online resources of interest to geotech engineers.
- NuGeo blog - “Providing News & Promoting Technology for the Geo Industries” - Daily updates about geotech events around the world. A very active blog until a few weeks ago, when it suddenly fell silent. I’m hoping its author is just away on vacation, and hasn’t actually given up on blogging.
- eng-tips forums - A forum for engineers of all colours, with several geotech-specific forums. Very knowledgeable and professional discussions going on.
- geotechref wiki - A wiki for the geotechnical world. Fairly sparse at the moment (it’s less than a year old) but looks like it has potential to be useful. Anyone can read it, and anyone with a (free) account can edit it.
Do you have your own favourite geotech web sites, forums, blogs or other online resources? Let me know what they are by emailing me or leaving a comment and I’ll post them here.
See you in the new year!

Thanks for the plug. NuGeo is still alive just sleeping these last few weeks or catching up on other work. Look for more news soon.
Cheers!

Good to hear, Dave, I’ll keep it in my feed reader.

Thanks for linking to geotechref. I certainly need to spend more time on the project. My goal is to be a more definitive space for engineers to look. Where eng-tips is a series of discussions, geotechref will have the conclusion.

One reader has also recommended geoengineer.org, which includes a compilation of free geotechnical papers among other things.
